Missouri had high hopes coming into the 2008 season, but now the No. 15 team has back to back losses and is out of the BCS Championship race. Missouri looks to end their two-game skid as it hosts Colorado on Saturday.
If the Tigers want to get back on the right track, there’s one thing they can do. Get Jeremy Maclin involved in the game! I know he’s been a beast on special teams, but Jeremy just isn’t putting up the monster numbers on offense that he should be. He hasn’t scored an offensive touchdown in 2 weeks.
Jeremy Maclin is getting a lot of receptions, he’s just not making much with them. I don’t know if it’s been his ability to break free, or if there is no blocking? Either way, Chase needs to throw him the rock in open space and let him work his magic.
I’m predicting a Missouri win on Saturday, and Jeremy to have 7 receptions for 110 yards and 1 touchdown, plsu 25 yards on the ground.

I went around telling everyone I know that I thought Missouri would upset Texas. Boy did they make me look like a fool. Now I have to go in the office on Monday and listen to everyone knock me down. The final score you ask? 56-31. “There’s no excuses,” said Pinkel. “They outplayed us, out-blocked us, kicked us, running, passing, coaching, everything.”
Texas got up to an early 35-3 lead at the half, and Missouri couldn’t catch up. Jeremy Maclin did have 8 receptions, but was only able to get 66 yards from them. He played mediocre on offense, but did have 132 yards from kick returns, including a 50 yarder.
Missouri is now No. 15 in the BCS and No. 16 in the AP Poll. They’re pretty much out of it. I don’t see a 2 loss team winning the National Championship this year.

This is the game of the week! No. 11 Missouri Tigers traveling to Austin to play the No. 1 Texas Longhorns. The entire naiton will be watching. Now is the time for Missouri to get back in the good graces of the poll voters. A win over No. 1 Texas would be huge!
This will be Jeremy Maclin’s first time playing against Texas. The Texas defense will be keying in on stopping him. Maclin acknowledged this season is different from last in terms of the attention he receives. “I’ve seen a lot of high-lows (double coverage), things like that,” he said. “But that’s why you have to work yourself into the running game, work yourself into screens and the quick game and set up the play-action. I think Coach (Christensen) definitely has done a good job of mixing it up a bit.”
Hopefully, Jeremy can use his moves and speed to break free from defenders. “Because of his top-end speed,” said Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christensen, “he has a chance to take it the distance every time he touches the football.”
I’m predicting a very close game. Something like 31-28. Jeremy Maclin will have a huge night receiving the ball and returning kicks/punts. They’ll need him. Something in the range of 150 yards of offense and a touchdown sounds about right.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys stunned the Missouri Tigers on Saturday when they took home a 28-23 victory. Chase Daniel was off a bit, but was still able to connect with Jeremy Maclin 8 times for 120 yards.
“Put it all on me,” Daniel said. “I should have made all three of those throws. It seemed like we were a little bit off all night. For the reason, I have no idea.”
The three throws he is referring to were interceptions, one of which was headed to Jeremy. “We knew the ball was going to go to Maclin,” said linebacker Patrick Lavine, who made the interception. “He’s a big playmaker on offense, and so I tried to play on him harder.”
This is also the first game since the opener where Jeremy Maclin wasn’t able to find the endzone.
The Missouri Tigers are no ranked No. 11 and face off against the No. 1 ranked Texas Longhorns this coming weekend.

Coach Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are coming to Missouri this weekend for a BIg 12 matchup against Jeremy Maclin and the Tigers. The over/under on this game is probably pushing 80 points. “It’ll be a good show for the fans,” Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel said. “I think it’s going to be a great offensive showdown.”
One thing Missouri likes to do is score early and score fast. They’re one of the nations top scoring offenses, yet they have one of the worst time of possession stats. That doesn’t bother Jeremy though. “That’s never been a concern for us,” Maclin said. “If you’re scoring points, it doesn’t matter.”
All-American Jeremy Maclin is fifth in the nation in all-purpose yardage with an 186.8-yard average and seven touchdowns, five on receptions, one on a run and one on a kickoff return. He’s going to do it all again when he takes the field tomorrow. No one on the Cowboys defense will be able to stop Jeremy Maclin. He’s too fast and too evasive.
I’m predicting a HUGE, Heisman-like day for Maclin. Something like 10 receptions for 180 yards, plus 100 return yards and 3 total touchdowns.

No. 3 Missouri handed Nebraska a big 52-17 loss on Saturday. They just keep moving up in the AP Poll. Chase Daniel didn’t put up huge numbers, but he was able to find Jeremy Maclin 5 times for 89 yards and a touchdown. “The scary part about this,” star receiver Jeremy Maclin said, “is we haven’t played our best game yet.”
Below is a video that shows Jeremy’s highlights from the game. Check out the 10 yard pass he gets from Chase and is able to use his blazing speed to turn it into a 58 yard score.

Tomorrow night at 9:00 PM EST on ESPN, Jeremy Maclin and the No. 4 Missouri Tigers will be playing the unranked Nebraska Cornhuskers. It’s going to be a Thanksgiving feast on national television. Last year against the Corn Huskers, Maclin put up 100+ yards of offense. With Missouri’s offense clicking on all cylinders so far in 2008, I’d expect him to nearly double those numbers (not to mention his kickoff/punt yardage).
But what about kickoffs and punts? What if Nebraska is scared of Jeremy and they try to squib it? “Yeah, obviously, it’s frustrating,” Maclin said. “But you’ve got to look at it for the better of the team. They’re going to squib the ball, and we pick it up and take it to the 38-, 40-yard line. We’re just as fine with that. If people directional kick the ball on punts or punt it out of bounds, that’s definitely something we’ll live with.”
Missouri is coming off a bye, so they’re definitely rested and wll prepared for this game. The best way to shut Nebraksa fans up is to get an early lead. Look for Chase to come out firing and for Maclin to be on the receiving end. “We’re game-planning for all situations,” Maclin said. “If they’re going to do it, they’re going to do it. If they give me an opportunity to return the ball, and we give our rangers team some time to make things happen, hopefully we can do some things.”
My prediction is Jeremy Maclin: 7 receptions for 140 yards, 3 rushes for 32 yards and 2 total touchdowns. Then he’ll also add almost 100 return yards on top of the offensive numbers.

After a slow start to the season, sophomore wideout for the Missouri Tigers, Jeremy Maclin, seems to have recomposed himself, this week — for the second time in a row — grabbing over 150 yards of receiving and scoring at least one touchdown in a single game, in this instance, against the Buffalo Bulls
The only problem came from a case of fumblitis. “It’s unacceptable,” said Jeremy Maclin, who had one of the fumbles for the Tigers. “All three coming from the receiving corps, we’re better than that. We’ve got to get that corrected, high and tight the way the coaches preach.” Maclin was particularly upset because his fumble set up a Buffalo touchdown. “It’s all on me. I didn’t get the ball wrapped up tight enough. That’s pretty much all.”
I’d hate for Jeremy too get too hard on himself though. He did still put up 193 yards of offense! In case you missed his touchdown run, I’ve posted a video of it.

The no. 5 ranked University of Missouri Tigers ( the nation’s No. 1 ranked offense) will welcome over 65,000 fans (will any Buffalo fans show up?) to Saturday’s football game against Buffalo. Kickoff for the 5th-ranked Tigers’ game is set for 1:00 p.m. CT.
The man behind Jeremy Maclin’s great success, Chase Daniel, said “We want to score every time we touch the ball.” Hell yeah! That’s the Mizzou spirit we’re looking for. Jeremy blew up like a volcano last week catching 6 balls for 172 yards. He’ll definitely be looking for similar production this week against an absolute terrible Buffalo team. I don’t even know what the line is on this game, but it’s got to be close to 45 points.
Jeremy Maclin has 5 touchdowns on the year so far (4 receiving and 1 punt return). I think he can add 2-3 more touchdowns to that total by the end of the game tomorrow. Jeremy is a huge talent and is a threat to score any time he touches the ball. I’m envious of everyone who’s going to the game. It should be an exciting, high scoring affair. Go Tigers!

And by “explodes”, I mean puts up monster numbers. They should earn him some kind of SEC Player of the Week Honor. In Missouri’s 69-17 victory over Nevada on Saturday, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin had 6 catches for 172 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 2 kickoff returns and 4 punt returns for a total 62 yards. Things got kicked off during Missouri’s second drive when Chase Daniel hit Maclin for an 80 yard bomb.

Daniel’s record-breaking throw didn’t look like much before Maclin got hold of it. Still needing more than 40 yards to earn his spot at the top of the record book, Daniel hit the speedster on a short pass over the middle, and the All-American turned it into something special, dodging defenders and sprinting down the left sideline for the touchdown that perhaps only fans immediately realized was special.
“I had no idea what his stats were,” Maclin said. “But I’d do anything to help that guy.”
The Missouri Tigers love to throw the rock, it’s the perfect system for Jeremy Maclin. “We like to pass the ball,” Maclin said. “So we’re gonna do it in rain, sleet, snow, dry day, regardless.” Missouri is now #5 in the AP Poll thanks to their huge win.
