With the 19th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Philadelphia Eagles have selected Jeremy Maclin from Missouri. The Eagles traded up to grab Maclin, so they must love his value at the draft spot. A lot of experts had Maclin rated as a top 10 pick, so it surprising to see him slip about 10 spots. However, Maclin is now going to a playoff contender and has Donovan McNabb throwing him the ball instead of JaMarcus Russell.
Maclin should be a great fit for the Eagles. I’m excited for him to see what he can do in a high powered offense.

The day all Jeremy Maclin fans have been waiting for is almost here. Tomorrow is the start of the 2009 NFL Draft, where our favorite player will be selected to a new team and start a new phase of his life. Maclin’s days at Missouri will never be forgotten. Sure he never won them a National Championship, but boy did he put on a show these past two years. We’ve rarely seen any players in history put up so many all-purpose yards and make so many big plays.
Almost every single mock draft I’ve seen now has Jeremy Maclin as the first wide receiver taken in the draft, just a slot or two above Michael Crabtree. The consensus now is that Maclin will be selected by the Raiders at No. 7 and Crabtree at No. 8 to the Jaguars. For Maclin’s sake, I might like to see him drop a few slots to Green Bay at No. 9. I think he could be a great playmaker for the Packers. They also are the most stable franchise in the top 10 and have a young stud quarterback.
Where do you think Maclin will be drafted? I can’t wait for tomorrow!

Things are starting to heat up in the NFL Draft world. Some players are falling, some are rising. I think Maclin would be on the rising list. It’s being reported by the Kansas City Star that Jeremy Maclin was note invited to the NFL Draft in New York City. Here’s an excerpt from their story:
Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is fine with the fact that he wasn’t invited to New York City for draft weekend by the NFL.
“I didn’t get invited,” said Maclin, who is projected by many to be a top-10 pick in next weekend’s draft.
“I’m fine with it,” he said. “I’m not tripping off that. I’ve seen as high as sixth and as low as 17. I’ve seen the Raiders quite a bit.”
Maclin seems to be one of the safest WR picks in the draft right now. Crabtree’s foot has been in a boot for a month and Percy Harvin just failed a drug test. I wouldn’t surprise me to see Maclin be the first WR selected this year.
