Two days ago, the Missouri Tigers beat Northwestern 30-23 in the Alamo Bowl. The win capped off a somewhat disappointing seasons for the Missouri players. Missouri was able to tie the game up in the 4th quarter to send it to overtime. Guess who scored the game winning touchdown… yup, our favorite Tiger, Jeremy Maclin.

Maclin had two touchdowns in the game. In addition to his game winning touchdown reception, her also ran back a punt 75 yards for a score. Here’s a video of that punt return:

Jeremy finished the game with 5 rushing attempts for 43 yards, 7 receptions for 39 yards and 5 total punt/kick returns. He showed the NFL (should he chose the NFL Draft) that he is an all-purpose threat and can score from any spot on the field.

The Ultimate Decision

The Missouri Tigers are a week away from their December 29th Alamo Bowl game against Northwestern. One of the big questions that still looms over the head of Jeremy Maclin and all the Tiger fans is: Will Maclin go pro?

He’s said before he won’t make a decision until after the bowl game, but Jeremy did submit his paperwork to the NFL Draft Advisory board asking their opinion on his draft potential. Most underclassmen do this though…

The upside for going pro… big time money.

And the upside for returning to Missouri for another season?

“Who’s been a three-time All-American? And I still haven’t won a Big 12 championship,” said Maclin, who earned All-America honors the last two years. “Yes, we’re losing Daniel and Coffman, which is a huge part of our offense, but we still have playmakers around. … Big-time names are leaving, but I think we’ve got guys who can step in. They may not be ready right now, but after spring ball and through the summer and starting next season, I think they’ll be ready to play.”

Maclin Named to AP All-American Team

Missouri Tigers sophomore wideout/return specialist Jeremy Maclin was named a first-team selection on The Associated Press All-America team. This marks his second consecutive first-team AP selection.

Maclin leads major-college football in all-purpose yards with 203.54 a game — just over 20 yards more than second-place Jahvid Best of California. Maclin has 95 catches for 1,221 yards and has scored 15 touchdowns.

With stats like that, there’s a lot of talk about Jeremy heading to the NFL. He’s been pretty quiet on the topic the past few weeks (which usually means they’re gone). As for the premise that he would leave if projected as a first-round pick, Maclin said, “There’s a lot more you’ve got to factor into it.”

Maclin in the Big 12 Championship Game

Jeremy Maclin and the Missouri Tigers are embracing a new role for Saturday’s Big 12 Championship Game against the Oklahoma Sooners… the role of spoiler. The Tigers are nowhere near as good as the Sooners, but with a win on Saturday they can ruin the Sooners hopes and dreams of going to the BCS National Title game.

Maclin has played Oklahoma twice (both games in 2007), and in each game he was held under 100 yards receiving with 0 receiving touchdowns… although he did record 2 rushing touchdowns against them. The Sooners have a strong, fast defense which makes it difficult for Maclin to use his speed to breakaway.

One thing that helps Mizzou’s chance in this game is the weather. The game is being played in Kansas City at Arrowhead… it’s going to be 30 degrees and snowing. Perfect weather for an upset. With Maclin likely going pro next year, an upset on Saturday could be the biggest game of his career.

Go Tigers!

Maclin Finishes Regular Season Strong

The Missouri Tigers may not have finished the regular season on a good note, but WR Jeremy Maclin did. In the Tigers 40-37 loss to Kansas on Saturday, Jeremy had 9 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown, plus 3 rushes for 32 yards. This is the 3rd straight game Maclin has gone over 100 yards receiving.

Luckily, Jeremy Maclin isn’t ending his season on a losing note. The Missouri Tigers get to play No. 2 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship on Saturday. The entire nation will be watching and waiting to see if Missouri can knock them off. Ohhh the chaos that would cause. Maclin will be in primetime and have dozens of NFL scouts watching him. I think he’ll blow up for another 100 yards.
